  1. Hi hard working Sonot crew and racers,

When I picked up my bib, #359, for the 30K Thursday I stated my intent was to pioneer the 20K option–the stage 3 portion of the 50K this year–the day before the race. I did that completing it just after 7PM, March 25, 2022, about a week and a half before my 73rd birthday, with a time of 3:05:52. Hope that 20K route will be an official option in 2023, it is challenging enough but avoids the Black Hole downhill which I find terrifying in icy conditions and it avoids the brutal South Tower climb which I only skied once in the last several years because it was part of last years virtual route. I might feel comfortable in a mass start situation by then. Virtual still was far more comfortable for me this year, but i still enjoyed feeling a part of the event, my 13th all in a row.

Hope all had/are having a great race today.

    Robert Toth
